J.R.R. Tolkein and C.S. Lewis were big influences for my writing, but I can’t leave out my own father. So much between us is similar, despite how much it may seem unlikely.
My father, when he was younger, wrote little short stories called “The Life and Times of Luigi Bosco.” This was a grouping of short stories of an Italian man whose life was sprinkled with a good number of extraordinary events. This has led him to consider a number of diverse issues, forming opinions that others have often termed, “odd”, “bizarre” or “extraordinary.” Are his assessments “unusual?” Is his life “extraordinary?” Or, is it all in his mind??
Well, interestingly enough, today I found out there was a radio show called “Life with Luigi” between 1948 and 1952. My father doesn’t remember it, he would have been very young when it was out. However, he must have thought of the name from subconsciously remembering the name from the show. Or it was a hilariously coincidental.
In time, perhaps, I’ll include some of his writings of Luigi Bosco with my own writing.
